Not only did I create the one-click download for your TomTom device for Hampton Roads, but I created one for the whole country this week to see if anyone uses it.

Rather than just export the Hampton Roads yard sale listings this weekend, I made the TomTom button for all 274 of the garage sales in the whole commonwealth.

If you need help importing/exporting garage sale listings for a different brand of personal GPS, please let me know.

Is the economy driving people to sell their stuff?

There are 26% more garage sale listings for this weekend this year than the same weekend last year for the Hampton Roads area. (last year 93, this year 117)

What’s driving the trend?

With such mild temperatures, the thought crossed my mind that it could be the weather, but a quick check of a weather almanac shows the weather was actually a bit nicer last year. About the same highs during the day, and not as chilly at night. so my completely unscientific guess, is — it’s the economy.

A competitor, but not a competitor. They do offer garage sale listings and maps, but in a totally different way. Lots of great articles and content on this site as well.
