This is no longer a first time garage sale. I have held the sale for a few weeks now, but it is the first time for many items. I am doing a total makeover of my life and my environment, not only out of necessity, but also practicality.
I have some really beautiful things that I have collected over many decades. I have linens (shower curtains, regular curtains, table clothes, chenille spreads, doilies, runners, just to name a few).
I have breakables, such as wine glasses, dishes, candle holders.
I have tons of craft items, and I really need to focus on getting those organized, because as it is now, it looks like a great big tangled pile of trouble, LoL.
I have retro stuff, beaded door curtains, big blue plastic retro circle window/door curtains, candles, several very unique things that you just won`t find anywhere on any day.
I have birdhouses, bird feeders, and hummingbird feeders.
There are books, but not many. I value my books so I hardly ever part with them.
I have nothing for kids, except a few books for children, that for some reason, were just charming to me at the time so I bought them. My son is going to take his time about blessing me with grandchildren (pout), but there`s no sense in holding on to things indefinitely.
I have tons of female scrubs in various sizes.
I have purses, a few pair of shoes, some shirts and blouses, some dresses, some pants, quite a few really cute nightgowns and lounge wear.
I have almost nothing that a man would want, I have no tools, only a few pieces of clothing my son no longer wears, he is very tall and slender.
And jewelry, gosh I have SO MUCH jewelry. I haven`t even put any of that out yet. That lady that stole from me my very first week of having the sale took away the desire to put them out. Everything would just be so easy to walk away with and tuck into a bag or something. I don`t want to part with these things people, I am doing this to survive and the thought of someone stealing from me, just because they can, well I have a really hard time with that. I`m sorry, so if you want to see my jewelry, you will have to ask me to see it later, alone with me after the sale or something. It is mainly costume jewelry, no real diamonds, silver or gold, but treasured pieces nonetheless.
I have an old desk, solid wood, that would be beautiful if someone has the time to restore it. I know it is pine, because someone explained to me what resin does to wood as it ages.
I have a small breakfast table, and two chairs but they are not a set, although I used them as a set. I will paint them if I can`t sell them at what I think they are worth, and I will just keep them. Or put them out later at another sale and ask for twice as much after restoring them.
I have an iron and wicker chair that I messed up when I painted it, in that I painted the iron legs. But they are iron, and won`t be hard to strip.
After I am over there on Thursday to set up for Friday and Saturday, anything that is still left over from the original and subsequent sales are going to be boxed up and taken to Salvation Army.
The sale will be held inside a garage in Kingsport, rain or shine. Parking will be limited but it will be okay to park in the driveway (there are two spaces there), but not all the way to garage so as not to block anyone in. You can also park on the street. I think it may rain, unless the weather forecast changes, so be sure to bring an umbrella. The garage sits back pretty far from the road. Directions posted below.
ABSOLUTELY NO EARLY BIRDS!
3273 Ridgeview Street. 9AM to 3PM
From Memorial Boulevard, turn onto Conway Drive across from The Great Body Company, take the third street to the right onto Ridgeview Street, third house on the left. Signs will also be posted but it is very easy to find using these directions, in case wind or rain take them down so be sure to jot the directions down just in case.
And to the older, bleached blonde woman that came to my first sale and stole from me by stuffing items into that large shiny purse I actually complemented you on, you might not want to show up again. I do know that you did it and I will recognize you.
And if you have your own sale, be wary. She is about 5`4, at least 50 plus, bleached blonde hair, not quite shoulder length at the time. When I saw her, she had part of her hair pulled back in a barrette, but the rest was down. I am sure her eyes were either green, blue or hazel, not brown, but I may be wrong. She had a sharp shaped nose. Everything she picked up, she asked if I would take less, and when I declined, she would throw whatever it was down like she was disgusted, very rude. She is a smoker, I could smell it on her right away. She was with a man at the time, and of course, carried that huge purse. Watch her, she will steal from you.
