<![CDATA[For decades, this Bainbridge Island home was shaped by an owner with a genuine eye for quality and a love of gathering beautiful things. Every room tells a piece of her story. The showstopper is a serpentine-front chest of drawers, believed to date to the late 18th century and passed down through several generations of the same family — its provenance still travels with it, in a yellowed 1978 clipping from Antique Furniture Forum that traces its Hepplewhite-style origins and even notes the replacement brass pulls. It's paired with its original matching key. Nearby sits a working oak hall bench, the kind of settle you'd find tucked by a farmhouse entry — sturdy, well-worn, and built to outlast its owners. Time itself is on display with a vintage Postal Telegraph "Synchronous Electric Time" wall clock, the sort once used to keep offices — and households — running on schedule, its cream face and red second hand still ticking. The living spaces reflect her comfort-meets-craft sensibility: a pair of oversized corduroy sofas, warm rope-ball table lamps, a hand-caned antique armchair, and a lush faux palm that made the front room feel like an island retreat year-round. Smaller treasures round out the collection — a hand-painted ceramic flamingo wind chime that once greeted visitors at the door, a bold hand-painted fruit-motif pitcher, a woven wood-tile wall mirror, and a still-life floral painting that hung quietly through it all. Come see the pieces a woman with true taste chose to surround herself with — and don't forget: 2 hidden coupons for extra savings are tucked among the items for sale. Find one, and it's yours.]]>

Over the years, he assembled an eclectic collection of treasures with a distinctly worldly character—from antique furnishings and richly woven Middle Eastern rugs to maritime pieces, art, and objects gathered from far beyond the Pacific Northwest. Each piece feels like part of a life shaped by the sea, travel, and an appreciation for craftsmanship and history. Captain’s Quarters at Providence Point is more than an auction—it is a glimpse into the legacy of a well-traveled collector and the remarkable things he chose to bring home.
