Born in Egypt, this remarkable woman was forced to flee to France at just 17 years with her mother and siblings, leaving behind her father, whom she would never see again. While working at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, she met her future husband, an American soldier. Together, they moved to the United States, settling in Virginia before she eventually made Cary her home. Her mother remained in Paris and lived to be over 100 years old.
This special auction honors a life of courage, love, and resilience. All estate proceeds, along with a portion of Caring Transitions' buyer's premium, will be donated to an organization supporting disabled veterans.
