By 1946, Matisse was suffering from declining health and working primarily from a studio in Vence, France. Confined mostly to a wheelchair, he stripped away all superfluous detail to achieve what he called a purity of expression. Frame: 19 ½” x 16 ½”, sight: 7 ½” x 9 7/8”. Seven Reclining Figures, lithograph, by Henry Moore (1898-1986). The reclining figure is the most defining, and enduring motif of Moore's career. Frame: 27”x 22”, plate: 12” x 15”. Martha’s Vineyard Landscape by Allen Whiting (American, born 1946) Allen is a landscape and narrative painter known for his plein-air scenes of Martha’s Vineyard.
