This collection is located in Sparks, Nevada where the auction is being held. The gentleman that curated this collection spent the majority of his career working as an "Imagineer"at Disneyland in California. He worked creating and building anything and everything needed to maintain the world's foremost amusement park. He worked out of a massive machine shop where he designed and created some of the most iconic features in the park for over 40 years. Over his career, he began collecting primarily planes. I have showed pictures of this collection to numerous collectors in the U.S. and several of them agreed that this collection of planes may be the largest in private hands in the United States. This is amazing considering the owner of this collection told me he downsized about 80% of his collection when he left California. There is actually quite a bit more than what we have in this auction and may actually have more in the future.
