Traditional Peruvian Show Saddle with Adornments including Crupper, Carone (saddle pad), leather stirrups and an additional set of Wood Stirrups. Made by hand in Peru. This saddle is very secure with an exceptionally high pommel & curved cantle that positions the rider in a correctly balanced position. The Saddle & accompanying tack are made from full grain, top hide leather made between mid 1980s-1990's. The designs on the saddle, saddle pad, crupper, and stirrups are exquisite. The crupper acts as a safety piece to keep the saddle from slipping. The Carone is made of the same beautiful leather & has a tooled border. This thick leather pad iimproves gait and distributes weight more evenly across the horse’s back. Over time the leather pad changes shape; sweat, weight and movement cause it to conform to the shape of the horse's back, to “shim”, thinner in some places, thicker in others. This is a very comfortable saddle. Especially for anyone with knee pain.
